Busy, busy.. 365 photos coming!

Mom really has been taking photos of me everyday! It has been a lot of fun to try out different poses, and have a photo shoot every day! Unfortunately, there is something about getting the photos off the little box and putting them into the bigger box, and then sorting through them and labeling them and uploading them and.. I really don't know what all of that stuff means, but Mom says it needs to be done before I can show everyone the photos. 
Sigh.. I hate when my humans get so busy!

Yup, Mom caught me napping on the coffee table. I fell asleep watching my boys playing at the table, and they obviously forgot to clean up when they left.. At least they left me enough room to comfortably sleep. Catnap!

365 Photo Project of My Own... Maybe

I was thinking that I would try to get a photo up every day, or almost every day. A cat's schedule can be quite hectic! It may turn into a sort of 365 project of my own.. well, we will see what it becomes as it goes on!

This is a photo of me, Snowshoe, as I sat by the window one day, dreaming. I thought I would start here as a way to introduce myself.

My Lettuce

I keep telling people that I really do like my lettuce. Why does everyone think that is strange? I really get annoyed when people question my tastes. Yes, I am a cat. No, I do not like meat all that much. Yes, I really do eat lettuce. In fact, I love it. I love to climb up on the table or counter and eat it straight off your plate if you are not watching! And the container of lettuce in water on the counter, MUST be just for me, so I can not understand why my people keep putting it through that noisy machine and turning it into green liquid that they drink. Fresh Lettuce

I was so glad that Mom got fresh lettuce out of the fridge today. It has been several days since fresh lettuce was out. In fact, I was so famished for it that I tried to eat off the dinner plate. The kids caught me, and wouldn't let me have it. Sigh. Later though, after tucking everyone into bed, Mom shared a piece of lettuce with me as I sat in her chair. I got to eat it right from her hand. What a treat!

Fresh Air From an Open Door

I have had a glorious morning. The door blew itself open again, and I got to stand guard. I of course had to go out on the porch to do so. I was very good though.. I sat just outside the door. It was wonderful to feel the sunshine and the chill of the fresh air. Much better than sitting in the open window! I was very glad that I noticed the door being open.. and I enjoyed talking with my friends that live outside too. What a wonderful day!

Gerbil Watching

I was thoroughly enjoying myself today. I spent a large portion of the day playing hide and seek with our gerbil, Midnight. She and I have become really good friends, and we paw at each other through her cage bars. Reminder to self.. don't put your back to the gerbil when you are that close to cage! I got her back though.. I did a sneak attack on her when she was chewing on a box at the edge of the cage. She jumped! Of course, that might have been because I slid in to the cage, since the rest of her reaction was to sit there and shake her head in disgust. She didn't even have the decency to pretend to hide from me! Ah well.. I love having such a good friend!

A Clean Box Please!

I was starting to think of using the floor to get their attention! My boys FINALLY cleaned my box! I really like my litter box when it is clean. I have a Booda Dome Litter Box. The color could use a bit of improving.. it is a bit dull. Overall, it is a great litter box. I love that it has steps to get into the litter, instead of having to climb over the side. I have had this box since I was a kitten, and it was so easy to climb into even then! I normally don't like covered places, but I think this is an exception. I mean do YOU really want someone staring at YOU when you are on the toilet?!

Sneak Attack

The huntress peers from the shadows, eying the door.. waiting patiently for her chance. Quickly she dives through the open space, pries open the cabinet door and slips into the darkness. Only with careful observation would one notice the door slightly ajar, the glowing eyes in the dark space... Suddenly the cabinet door bangs open and the huntress leaps from the dark cavity to sequester her prey. Once again the food dish has been defeated! Oh man.. it's empty! Hey!.. Hey furless creatures.. would you put something in my bowl!

I Want to Play!

There is nothing more disturbing than when your family is busy to play! I even tried sitting in Mom's chair every time she got up today.. still nothing. Okay, not nothing, plenty of getting petted and hugs. But no one would pick up my feather toy and PLAY with me! and then to top it off, the left the house, and all I could do was watch them out the window as they walked away down the block. Maybe I will take a cat nap in one of these. I love my cat tree.. might just have to get one for every room in the house!

Chilly Days Need Heated Cat Beds!

The day may have started with beautiful sunshine streaming in the windows, but the wind has pushed those clouds in to cover the sky. That is just a bad combination. How is a kitty supposed to find a warm sunny spot on a day like this?! I have been purrrrrusing online looking for a solution, and I think I may have found something you will like as much as I do. Check out this heated cat bed! I really like this one because it is open. I hate having to crawl into a closed container.. do you really think I am going to feel safe enough to sleep if I can't SEE what is coming?! So this cat bed is open, heated, and a decent price.. I am going to go curl up for a nap in a warm bed now. Purrrrrrr

An Inside Cat

I have been watching cats outside in my yard today. There are times when I wish I could go outside and play with them.. and other times when I wish they would just go away. This is MY house! As the chill of the night creeps in, I am very glad that I am inside. I am quite happy to be curled up near my family. At the moment, I have claimed a desk chair.

A Sunny Warm Spot

I do believe that there is nothing better in life than appreciating some of the simple pleasure that we often overlook. At the moment, I am appreciating being a cat and being able to curl up in this warm, sunny spot and drowsily watch my people moving around. I am glad I am not them.. they seem awfully busy today.

Putting the Mouse Away

I have been trying to teach my boys to put their mouse away under the table when they are done with it. Mom keeps telling them to put their mouse and that board with the buttons on it under the table the picture box is on when they get up and walk away. I have taken it upon myself to make it my mission to help them learn this. To this end, I have been making sure I push every toy I have under the furniture while they are watching. I wonder how long it will take them to figure it out?

Sigh..

Sigh.. When will they be home? My people went out today. They said they would only be gone for a little while, but do they have any idea how much I miss them when they are not inside with me?! I feel like it has been days since they left! I can't wait until they get home though.. they usually bring me SOMETHING. Perhaps it will be a new cat toy, or a fancy dish, maybe some crunchy cat food to munch on.. or maybe, just maybe, they will bring me home some fresh lettuce. There is just nothing better than having fresh lettuce set out on the counter in water for me to munch on any time I feel like it. Sigh.. I hope they are home soon.

Boxes Everywhere

I haven't decided if I am in heaven or feeling a bit neglected.. my family is moving and they are putting everything into these boxes. The empty and partly full boxes are lots of fun to play in, but it seems that my family a bit busy. No one seems to have time to play with my feather toy with me.. On a more positive note.. my laser light toy was found! I really do know it is not a little red bug flying around, but I love to pretend that it is and chase it around. And I am so glad that I have a family that is well trained enough to spend time playing with me!
